BAKED DELUXE OYSTERS le OSCAR

Gonzales-Mora’s Noche Bruta is a new Camp North End gem, taking over Hex’s sweeping space Thursday through Saturday evenings for a slightly fancier sit-down service. At reasonable prices, the hyper-limited menu still gets to a bit of everything — the flautas drenched in a salsa verde, the ribeye tacos, and a can’t-miss miso caramel churro. The crispy pork katsu sandwich marries Japanese, Hawaiian, and Mexican flavors between pillowy shokupan. At Deluxe Restaurant in Charlotte, our goal is to provide guests with a memorable and unique dining experience. We offer a wide range of delicious food options at reasonable prices.

El Veneno Food Truck

Its clean-cut and unblemished aesthetic draws post-work professionals in, especially into the higher-brow Aster Cocktail Bar and casual Lanai Terrace. Standout vendors include beloved Curry Gate, Korean street food vendor Seoul Good, and franchise Dock Local, which promises tried-and-true Connecticut and Maine lobster rolls (hot and cold, respectively). A delectable combination of ground fillet mignon, breadcrumbs and a blend of Deluxe spices all enveloped in a luscious blend of coriander, garlic, and a velvety butter cream sauce served with zucchini puree. It has also introduced simpler, less expensive bags such as the Chanel Cabas and is increasingly leaning into its cultural programme. The latter are so smart and chic, it will be interesting to see if anyone wearing one gets turned away at the door of the more hidebound institutions. No contemporary designer, in any discipline, could fail to be intrigued by La Cité.

By day, the inside is lovely, with the sun casting flirty shadows on the oodles of natural wine bottles, but visitors will want to sip their amber and pink-hued drinks outside on the balcony or patio. Because it’s a small house with a front yard (and a parking lot), it really feels like someone’s yard party. By night, it’s moody with generous specials and a backdrop of something funky on aux, vinyl, or even live.

They were seasoned perfectly and very tender. The All About It Seafood Rice was a winner as well with Jumbo Shrimp Lobster, and Scallops. If in Charlotte put Deluxe Fun Dinning on your list of restaurants to patronize. We are planning a trip back with a group of friends to enjoy.

Took my 13-year-old god daughter, and they made her a nonalcoholic drink that looked so sophisticated. It is pricey, but everything we got from food, drinks, and service was amazing and was worth it. Six oysters on the half-shell are topped with blue crab and parmesan cheese. Drizzled with a rich Béarnaise sauce, baked to perfection, then topped with King Crab... Oyster, Blue crab, Cheese, and King crab It’s a perfect combo if we do say so ourselves.

Don’t be shy about blanketing everything — the remnants of crispy crust or the lush burrata — in that bonafide Sicilian olive oil or the dipping trio, featuring a crushable Calabrian chili red sauce. While Pizza Baby is in its infant stage, finding its footing with busy nights and new employees, it has promising potential as a fun adult pizza party. The small team and secret tasting menu at Kappo En, in the back of Menya, respect the tradition and elegance of a guided omakase, prioritizing an intentional dining experience over a trendy and flashy night out. The counter-style dining area is so intimate that diners, witnessing the precise dance of an open kitchen, may feel like they’re in an artist’s private studio. Press Release Service

Until July of 1887, the church was without stove, chancel furniture and window glass. The church was consecrated on July 28, 1887 during which a number of clergy participated, as the Convocation of Charlotte was in session. On July 24, 1887 seventeen persons were confirmed at the church’s first Confirmation service. In 1891, the name of the church was changed from “Church of the Holy Comforter” to Christ Church. The sacraments are outward and visible signs of inward and spiritual grace, given by Christ as sure and certain means by which we receive grace. The two great sacraments are Holy Baptism and the Holy Eucharist.

Prior to becoming a priest, Joan served in the United States Navy and Navy Reserve. Originally from Norfolk, Elizabeth moved to Seattle after graduating from the University of Virginia. In the Pacific Northwest, Elizabeth was a middle school teacher, the Director of Christian Formation at Epiphany Parish, and an active co-op preschool parent and community member. Along with her husband Dave and their three children, she returned to the east coast in 2020 to attend The Virginia Theological Seminary. She can be found sharing meals, on the soccer sidelines, and wherever she can traverse the highs and lows of life together with others.

Our commitment to racial justice and reconciliation was strengthened as we witnessed the pain of our sisters and brothers of color. Jesus is our savior, but we were also saved by technology this year! Christ Church is currently offering one online service of prayer, hymns and a sermon, each Sunday at 9 a.m. Church leaders describe the new position as a ministry of presence, charged with addressing the array of issues that contribute to a person’s health — mental and otherwise. Today, the church refers families to HopeWay, and the facility’s medical staff has spoken at the church. The congregation has supported HopeWay financially, Blue said — including a grant to bring in Theo, a therapy dog.

Despite its growing support of mental health, the congregation was shocked by the rash of suicides. Among the dead was a 20-year-old college student, a 51-year-old businessman and father of two who was active in the church, and the Kocmonds’ son Nathan. As Scholar-in-Residence, Dr. Suzanne Watts Henderson teaches, preaches, and serves as a resource for the clergy and spiritual formation teams to foster deeper spiritual growth across the whole parish.

The church building had been under construction for three years. It was undertaken and completed by several families in the area, including the Lash and Hairston families. Cora Futon received the first baptism in the church on June 20, 1886. Established in 1886, our mission is to serve God joyfully, faithfully and actively through family, congregational and community ministries. But he also notes that there’s a difference between being included and truly belonging. He urges congregations to ask themselves whether they truly welcome the mentally ill into the life of the church and let them know they have a place in God’s home. Besides offering people opportunities to share their life challenges, Christ Church seeks to equip them with information and resources, to direct them toward help, and to encourage them not to suffer in silence. In the Church, features guest musicians, candlelight, sermon, poetic prayers from Enriching our Worship and a more informal atmosphere.

This series is especially designed to help white people talk with other white people, while being open to all racial/ethnic groups. Participants are invited to peel away the layers that have contributed to the challenges and divides of the present day – all while grounded in our call to faith, hope and love. Thinking back to that turning-point Sunday at Christ Church, she recalls that people seemed relieved to share their stories.

In addition to her strong passion for outreach, Joan likes being outdoors while hiking, gardening, and participating in community service. She also enjoys traveling, cooking, reading, and spending time with her two cats. From the beginning, the church has raised the question of how we relate to each other, Kinghorn said.

3 Shamanic Energy Clearing Tips to Clear Your Space, Especially After Ayahuasca

sage house cleansing

According to a 2019 study published in Scientific Reports, being in nature makes us feel relaxed, grounded, and connected to the Earth. Aside from its correlation with nature, we also tend to relate the color green to health, freshness, rejuvenation, abundance, and positivity. In ayahuasca culture, mapacho is believed to be particularly effective in dispelling negative spirits. If you are using mapacho to clear a physical space, you will want to blow mapacho smoke in the 4 directions (if it’s an open space), or fill your rooms with mapacho smoke. If there is a particularly problematic area or presence, you’ll want to blow it directionally. In the shamanic worldview, we are surrounded by spirits, both negative and positive.

Light it up with care

Hold the smudge stick at about a 45 degree angle over your abalone shell and light it up. Once you have the smudge stick lit, let it burn for about 20 seconds. If you have slipped in through the back door, you can catch up here for a background and history on sage cleansing. With both hands, bring the smoke into your heart, over your head and down the front and back of your body to cleanse yourself.

What to do after a cleanse

sage house cleansing

Whether you call it sage cleansing, sage burning or sage smudging, the sacred ritual can have many positive effects for your mind, body and home. I encourage you to continue to practice the art of sage cleansing whenever you feel there is a dissonance between yourself and the energies in your home. Understanding how to get rid of negative energy is vital for living your best life. Along with all of these effective cleansing techniques, healing crystals are another essential part of the process. For mind-body-spirit cleansing, healing crystals are some of the best remedies for balancing the home and body. Their crystalline structure is made up of atoms that repeat themselves over and over again, giving them a healing energy that falls in line with the steady rhythm of Earth.

How To Burn Sage: Respect and Reverence for the Practice

Once you're ready to extinguish a sage smudge stick, press the burning tip firmly into your fireproof vessel, dirt, or sand until the smoke no longer rises. Slowly walk around your space and allow the smoke to waft around. Guide the smoke—and the negative energy—toward the open windows or a door, so it can escape.

From there, you may take the necessary action to clear the space of any negative charges, and thus the negative sensations your body may be experiencing. Read on to hear what methods you may use to actually perform the shamanic space clearing. What stands greatly in our favor is to build a level of intuition in our perception of the unseen, and to build solid practices for energetic hygiene. Both of these allow us to keep our living spaces (and any space in which we find ourselves, for that matter) free of negatively-charged energy.

As we engage in this ritual, it’s crucial to honor its roots, respect its cultural significance, and perform it with mindfulness and intentionality. Before hosting events or gatherings, burning sage can clear any residual energies and create a welcoming atmosphere for guests. Burning sage in these spaces can help clear the air after challenging meetings, office conflicts, or periods of high workload. It creates a more harmonious and conducive environment for productivity. Supporting indigenous communities or ethical sources ensures respect for their cultural practices.

When the hectic pace of modern life throws you off balance, the healing energy of crystals can bring harmony back into your home with their high frequencies. Another sweet smelling tool for spiritual cleansing is Frankincense, which can enhance the purifying powers of sage and Palo Santo even more. Also called “the Transformer,” Frankincense has strong detoxifying and purifying properties and a sweet aroma that helps to absorb negative energy. Also nicknamed “Liquid Gold,” Frankincense is known in some cultures to provide protection, elevate spiritual awareness, and ease feelings of stress and anxiety.

How to Use Sage: Smudging with Sage + 3 Other Ways to Cleanse Your Space

Cleanse before important conversations, meetings, or after guests leave the home for an aura cleanse. To follow her lead, here’s McCann’s lowdown on bringing sage into your home and work space and keeping your spiritual hygiene on point. When procuring sage bundles or related materials, consider sourcing them authentically from indigenous suppliers or reputable sources that honor the cultural significance of these herbs. Its aroma is believed to clear the mind, allowing for deeper spiritual insights and connection to higher energies. Don’t extinguish your sage in water because it will ruin the tip! Instead, put it out in a small bowl of sand or in a bowl or container that’s oven-proof or fireproof.

Sage For Cleansing: How To Burn Sage, Benefits, Rituals & Indigenous Roots

Be very careful that the sage is completely extinguished, and don’t leave it next to anything that’s flammable. Positive ions are thought to be in allergens such as dust, mold, pet dander, pollen, and pollution particles, so burning sage may help to negate those and help you breathe better. Of course not, because that would be super gross and the dishes wouldn’t get clean. You’ll want to create as much smoke and as little flame as possible.

It’s actually found in many plants used in cultural spiritual rituals to enhance intuition. One way of inviting the protection, wisdom, and cleanliness of the sage plant, is by cleansing with sage. I don’t mean using a soap or shower cream with sage in it, I mean using actual sage branches.

If it’s not cleared, it can bring misfortune, bad luck, fear, anxiety, illness, sadness and sometimes even violence to the people in the house or building. Even if you run your business with fairness and positivity, negative energy thought forms can still have a harmful impact. All it takes is one person who acts in their own self-interest and goes against the company’s goals to disrupt everything. Have you ever noticed how a workplace’s energy can improve after a negative person leaves? By removing this detrimental energy, the company can replace the negative “void” with active, goal-oriented energy that aligns with its mission.

During moments of emotional overwhelm or anxiety, sage burning offers a tangible way to release negative energies and create a more serene environment. Before igniting the sage, set clear intentions and approach the ritual mindfully. Express gratitude and acknowledge the sacredness of the act, understanding that it’s more than a simple cleansing—it’s a spiritual endeavor. Approaching the practice of burning sage with reverence and respect is essential to uphold its cultural sanctity and honor the traditions from which it emanates.

Some research supports certain health benefits of sage, such as antimicrobial properties and enhanced alertness, but more research is needed. In addition to dissipating negative energy, improving mood, and strengthening intuition, burning sage might improve your memory and focus. The process of how to sage cleanse yourself is very much like the aforementioned one which takes place in a physical dwelling or business. However, because we are talking about the body and mind (and soul), you should place even greater attention on intent, and on the various phases before, during, and after the cleansing itself. ‘You may also want to burn sage if you’re going through a big life change to help give you an energetic lift, if you have experienced conflict lately or are craving a fresh start.

It’s beneficial after significant life changes, such as moving into a new home, to cleanse residual energies from previous occupants. In Indigenous Australian cultures, the burning of native plants like various types of eucalyptus leaves or acacia branches, similar to sage burning, is a customary practice. These ceremonies, known as “smoking ceremonies,” are performed to cleanse and protect individuals, spaces, and important items. Exercising and eating healthy is excellent for detoxing the body, but you also need to address the spiritual side of healing. If your energy feels particularly heavy, use these cleansing techniques to free yourself of lower vibrational energy that might be holding you back from living a full life. You might not be able to see the dust of energy accumulating in your home, but if you don’t occasionally cleanse it, this invisible layer of toxins can affect how you and others see your environment.

We were directed to go to a gate across from our gate. The plane wasn't there yet so we had to wait for it to arrive, then deplane everyone and then wait again for the plane to be cleaned. After 45 minuites we were allowed on the plane. The 2nd plane must have had bathroom issues because we did not have any food service whatsoever. That made for a long time not to have anything considering that we had just made it to the original gate and we had no time to stop to get food or a drink. Then we didn't want to leave the gate to get food because we wouldn't know how much longer the delay would be.

The Wi-Fi went out during the flight and there was only one plug for the devices every two seats. Three out of five surrounding my family did not work. The seats and spaces under them were so small I could not fit my backpack, which I’ve always brought on flights and fit before no problem. The crew were unpleasant and patronizing.

Someone Died In My House- What’s Next

You might be able to find online news articles that mention the address, as well as blogs or forums. The impact of learning about a death in your house can vary from person to person. How to find out if someone died in your house - steps to take

If you’re more concerned about the manner of death, your local library or historical society archives may prove more useful than census records. Libraries and historical societies tend to keep archives of local newspapers, so you can research news or events around your house and the people who previously lived there. Librarians and historical society members are also good resources who may be able to point you in the right direction. And if you’re buying or selling a home, keep in mind that a death in the home is unlikely to affect property values.

Digitized newspaper archives are free to search, and they might reveal information about deaths in your home. We provide peace of mind that your home will sell, plus list your home on the market to maximize your earnings. Finding out if someone died in your house isn’t as simple (or as free) as you might like. Knowing who has previously owned home can help you on your quest to find if anyone has died there. Once you know the previous owners of a house, you can look them up online through Google or other online search engines to find more information, such as death certificates. The homeowner or agent might know the entire history of the house, especially if it’s a newer property. Some (but not all) states even require sellers to notify buyers if someone died inside the home. It might be an awkward introduction to the neighborhood, but if you’re concerned about someone having died in the house, you can always ask the neighbors what they know about the house.

You can carve a pumpkin, for example, or make a scarecrow — or find out whether someone was ever murdered in your house. Let’s start by discussing the top two paid ways to find out how to discover if someone has died in your house. For others, the history of a home (at the very least) has some intrigue.

You can also research the deaths of family members and others using the Social Security Death Index. The online database has records of every death reported to the Social Security Administration between 1962 and 2014. If you are concerned about deaths that occurred before or after this timeframe, then this resource won’t help you. Tracking down previous owners of your home is a great start, but only tells a part of the story. If you want to ask people about a specific house within a particular neighborhood, just be upfront and open with them.

Our Home Advisors are experienced local agents who know how to sell for top dollar and help win your dream home. You can’t always guarantee that you’ll find a complete historical record of every house on the market, but you can take some steps in the right direction. None of that is likely to happen if someone died in your house, but there is a psychological aspect to real estate.

If they’ve been in the area for a long time, they may have seen your home pass through multiple owners and be more willing to discuss the home’s history. After all, they don’t stand to gain anything from withholding information from you. Two other paid services that don’t specifically search for deaths, but provide property history reports, are neighborwho.com and propertyscout.io.

In one case, a couple was bedeviled by knocking sounds in the night in the home the woman inherited from her grandmother. Self ran a search on Diedinhouse and didn't find any evidence the grandmother had died in the house. After descending into the basement, he discovered the ghastly noises in the night came from the water heater kicking on.

Some people believe a paranormal presence inhabits their home, and they want to get to the bottom of it. Others wonder if a death in the house might impact the value of the property. Most people, though, are just curious about the space they’re living in. However, if you’re wondering if someone has died in a home that was built more than 72 years in the past, you can probably just use logic. They may not have died in the house, but given that 20% of people do die in their own homes today, there’s a greater than zero chance.

This led to the civil war that became known as the Dance of the Dragons. Is House of the Dragon's House Hightower Book-Accurate to Fire & Blood?.

When House of the Dragon begins its tale, likely around the year 100 AC (After Aegon’s Conquest), Set Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans) is one of the most influential men in the Seven Kingdoms. While his older brother serves as the Lord Hightower of Oldtown, Otto has an important job in King’s Landing as Hand of the King. A scholarly intelligent man, Otto essentially ran the kingdom for the last two year’s of the “Old King” Jaehaerys I’s reign, as the beloved monarch experienced ill health. Things generally don’t seem to go very well for the Hightowers when they leave the comforts of their Hightower. Though immensely rich and often very learned due to their relationship with the Citadel, they’re not particularly interested in participating the game of thrones.

They likely founded the original Oldtown, one of Westeros’s largest and oldest cities. The last Hightower King, Lymond married his daughter to King Garland II Gardener and married Garland's daughter as well, making House Hightower the last of the Reach kings to swear loyalty to House Gardener. Interestingly, however, though House Hightower has always been immensely powerful and important they’ve never held full dominion over The Reach. House Gardener controlled the area through much of history from their seat in Highgarden before Aegon I arrived and installed House Tyrell as wardens. House Hightower is so-named because they live in a high tower…also called Hightower. Hightower (the structure, not the family) is a simple castle with an enormous lighthouse atop of it that sits on the outskirts of Oldtown right at the mouth of the Honeywine river.

While there, she became a constant companion to the older Jaehaerys. She spent so much time with Viserys’ predecessor that Jaehaerys began to mistake her for his own daughter, and it’s said that he passed away while Alicent was reading to him. Knowing that, it suddenly makes a lot more sense that Alicent’s father, Otto, so abruptly suggests that she spend time with Viserys in the House of the Dragon premiere. At first, Otto wished for Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen to succeed her father – anyone was better than Daemon.

Lord Donnel Hightower

The Hightowers were strong and loyal bannermen to House Gardener, and after House Gardener's destruction on the Field of Fire, they smoothly transferred their allegiance to House Tyrell. They were instrumental in the chaotic civil war that became known as the Dance of the Dragons, as it was Otto Hightower, Hand of the King, and his daughter Queen Alicent who were masterminds of the greens during the war. The Hightowers had been amassing their power in King's Landing long before the Dance, as Otto was Hand to King Jaehaerys and Viserys before he served King Aegon II Targaryen.

Lord Corlys Velaryon (Steve Toussaint)

Without getting into spoilers, the presence of Simon Strong and Alys Rivers, in particular, point to a sequence of events from the source material that unfolds at Harrenhal. There's a reason Prince Daemon (Matt Smith) made mention of Harrenhal when poring over the painted table at Queen Rhaenyra's (Emma D'Arcy) war council in the season 1 finale. The Hightowers made it to 297 AC when A Song of Ice and Fire takes place. While they still rule Oldtown, they have taken allegiance to Tyrells of Highgarden.

Whatever “floats your boat” get started by selecting your dream destination on our cruise search page. Port Long Beach is currently ranked USA's second-largest containership port - after the adjoining Port Los Angeles. Both ports are the country's main gateway for the shipping trade with Asia.

From here you can simply walk to the ship when departing and be back to your car within minutes when your cruise returns. The gigantic main terminal was dedicated in March 1963, eight months before the bridge opened. The Port of Los Angeles owned the facility, but management and operations were conducted by Consolidated Marine, a consortium of cruise ship operators, including APL and Pacific Far East Line. Berth 50 is at the mixed use (overflow) Outer Harbor which is about 2 miles away from the main terminal. Don't know if this will involve a shuttle for you on disembarkation and/or a shuttle for us embarking on the same day you disembark. There are two rental car companies located in Downtown San Pedro near the World Cruise Center that offer free customer pick-ups and drop-offs to the terminal. Both convenient locations operate Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. In San Pedro, there is a Von's Supermarket at 1221 S Gaffey St (at 13th Ave) and a Ralph's Supermarket further north at 1050 N Western Ave (with a In-n-Out Burger in the same complex).

Both facilities are planned as multifunctional - to double as event spaces (during no-ship days and off-season) housing musical concerts, exhibitions, conferences, etc. By this project, both berths (concrete wharves) will be upgraded with shoreside power (cold ironing) capabilities and dedicated parking areas. The San Pedro Cruise Terminal has a long history and many people's first images of cruising were formed here when they watched "The Love Boat" depart from here on TV each week.
